Sa présentation est intitulée : Vapour Compression Heat Pump Based Heating Technologies for Space Heating, and Domestic Hot Water in Continental Climate Conditions.

Le séminaire s’inscrit dans le cadre du cycle de conférences “Initiation à la Recherche” du double-diplôme Ecoles d’ingénieurs – Master Energie.

Résumé : During the winter season, continental regions like Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and North America are facing extreme ambient temperatures, from -40°C to0°C. Presently, natural gas boilers are commonly usedfor water heating and space heating application, butthe consumption of natural gas emitsharmful carbon compounds as by-products, which haveserious impact on the environment. The use of heat pump assisted space heating systems may overcomethe limitations of conventional heating systems, due to theirability to deliver more heat output than work input. However, single stage compression heat pump cyclesare limited to a maximaltemperature raise of 50° C between evaporation and condensation, which prevents theiruse during the winter season of continental regions. This talk will present two-stage cascaded heat pumpsolutions for heating under extremely cold climates, which aredevelopedin theongoing project: “Cascade Solar Assisted Heat Pump for Space Heating and Domestic Hot Water in Continental Climate Regions”, funded the World Bank and theMinistry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Two stage cascade heat pump for providing high temperature output without loss in heating capacity even under extremely cold ambient conditions. The two stage cascade heat pump cycles consists of two compression heat pump cycles namely, low temperature circuit and high temperature circuit operating with two different refrigerants (low temperature heat pump cycle with low boiling refrigerant and high temperature circuit with high critical temperature and low critical pressure), which are integrated together in series. The work will discuss the integration of RES (Renewable Energy Systems) to increase the thermal productivity of systems, in particular, solar water heaters (SWH). A heat pump will be considered both in terms of RES and energy efficiency. In addition, this talk will present organizational issues and prospects of the start-up companycreated to commercialize the product in the in Kazakhstan market. Economicalissues regarding the comparison with existing heating systems will also be raised.
