Doctoral Students’ Day 2023

Each year, Doctoral Students’ Day (open to all staff) gives second-year doctoral students the opportunity to present their research work. The aim of these short presentations for the general public, followed by a question-and-answer session, is to present the work in progress within the laboratory’s various teams and to provide an opportunity for doctoral students, researchers and support staff to exchange ideas.

This year, a big well done to our 9 PhD students who took part:

  • Zeina JoudiehSoil Mechanics and Geotechnics team: Artificial freezing of soils. Characterisation and modelling of hydromechanical behaviour under variable thermal stress
  • Lucie LapillonneFires team: Modelling the interaction between a water mist and a fire controlled by ventilation
  • Matthieu Amate-VignonFluid Transfer team: Theoretical and experimental study of a two-phase cooling system for electronic components in IT applications
  • Abderrahmane El HanafiHeat Management team: Thermal energy storage in metallic foam with a phase-change material
  • Adrien BarthélémyHeat Management team: Modelling unsteady heat transfer using parametric models: application to a digital twin of a loaded furnace system
  • Ali El ArabiHeat Management team: Development of virtual thermal sensors for power electronics control
  • Bilal AmouryHydrogen and electrochemical systems team: Multi-scale modelling of the PEM electrolyser to optimise its structure, operating conditions and hydrogen production
  • Peizhe WuHydrogen and electrochemical systems team: Advanced modelling of electrochemical systems
  • Jérémy CreuxElectrical Energy Management team: High-frequency modelling of synchronous machines with magnets – Application to the early detection of inter-pulse faults and demagnetisation faults
